It’s great to see the world of accessories for Quest 3 keep growing! Quest 2 has been around long enough that there are lots of different docks, adapters, chargers, and other bits and bobs to personalize it. I assumed it would take much longer to see many options for the Quest 3, but thankfully companies like ZyberVR jumped into action quickly to get things going.
Carry a Big Stick
This month, I’m taking a look at the ZyberVR Quest 3 Multipurpose 3-in-1 Sticks. What’s a 3-in-1 stick you might ask? Controllers are meant to be used universally across every type of app, but their shape doesn’t make much sense in scenarios like golf, tennis, or kayaking. In short, these sticks add custom handles to your controllers. They don’t make sense in every app, but when you need them, you know it!
Quick installation
To install the grips, you slide the controllers into adapter rings. These rings then lock into place on the stick. The sticks can be used to add length to each controller (#1), doubled-up for longer length on a single controller (#2), or even locked all together like a two-sided lightsaber (#3).
In the #1 configuration (more length for each controller), each controller now has a soft grip when you don’t need to worry about pressing the buttons. You can extend your reach in comfort for games like Beat Saber or Maestro.
In the #2 “position” (one extra long controller), you can play golf or tennis games with more of the “swing” feeling.
In the #3 mode (double-sided), relaxing experiences like Kayak VR: Mirage, National Geographic Explore, or Grand Canyon VR Experience are more immersive since you’re actually holding onto a rod.
Not only are these nice for the three length modes, but they also provide a more comfortable way to hold the controllers for longer periods due to their thick cushioning. They have a nice weight to them and are balanced when assembled into the double-ended configuration.
